Your Kids' AKP Questions Answered on Video! 4 years, 9 months ago #140

Hi everyone!

We are so excited to announce that Chuck Baird used his upload ability to send a private message to the Homeschool Learning Network to ask if our kids following his project have any questions! He has an opportunity to provide Video Answers for your kids' questions about his adventure!

Our Homeschooling Community is currently the only education community following this project, so he has reached out in order to provide educational material for the kiddos! It is a very unique opportunity and we need your help.

Please read up on the Alaskan Pioneer Project HERE, and help your kids to formulate questions for our Alaskan Pioneer Homesteader! Your children's questions most likely will get widespread national coverage.

He asked us to send questions in the form of... "Jason K. from Illinois asks...." and he will create a video response.

Please respond ASAP and help us build an even more fascinating and engaging project for the entire school year to come!

Thanks for your help!!

Here are some questions if your kids need some help thinking of one. You may use any one of these questions, or post your own!

  • After you finished bringing your supplies and the boat departed and you were alone, what was the first thing you did?
  • How did you build a house all by yourself? How big is it?
  • Where did you sleep before your house was built?
  • How do you collect drinking water?
  • What has been your biggest physical challenge and mental challenge since arriving on Latouche Island?
  • On day 11, you said "construction is beginning." What were you doing for the first 10 days?
  • What kind of wildlife have you seen or been in contact with so far?
  • How does Wilson the dog like living on Latouche Island?
  • How do you have electricity?
  • Where are you keeping all your supplies? Is your food attracting animals?
  • Have you found any evidence of the other people who used to live on Latouche Island?

Dear Alaskan Pioneer,

How do you feel about your prospects of staying on the island for the rest of the year after being there almost 3 weeks now?

Aiden C. (7 y.o) from Auburn, Washington asks...
How did you make the hinges for the door of your cabin?
How does Wilson like the island?
Have you killed any animals for food? What kind?

Thanks Aiden and Shanna! The questions go out to the Alaskan Pioneer on Monday evening, and it will probably take a couple of weeks to get the video responses.

Thanks, Beth and Annette! Great questions Annette, I had to send in the questions on the 23rd, but I just sent along your son's question in case he still has access to receive it! I guess we'll see in a couple of weeks!
